The topic of the forthcoming TransEurasia 2011 conference, which is organised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan, TransEurasia: Transit. Business. Logistics, is inseparably connected with the main theme of the TransitKazakhstan exhibition, and it is not by chance that these two large-scale projects are being held together under one roof within Kazakhstan Transport Days in the country’s capital.
TransitKazakhstan 2011 is organised by two leading domestic exhibition companies, Atakent-Expo and Iteca, with the assistance and active involvement of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In his welcome address to the TransitKazakhstan exhibitors, Minister Berik Kamaliyev noted:
“In the run-up to our country’s main holiday, the twentieth anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence, such major image-forming events as this exhibition and conference aim to promote the transit potential of Kazakhstan and its role in ensuring continuous and safe transportation in Eurasia. They facilitate the sharing of opinions and discussion of pressing issues in this area, and provide a unique opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges in the transport industry and establish effective partnerships.”
The Minister also expressed his confidence that “TransitKazakhstan 2011 will contribute to the further promotion of Kazakhstan’s transit capabilities and ensure effective cooperation between enterprises and companies from the CIS and abroad.”
The exhibition organisers note increasing interest in the event from exhibitors, which is reflected in the growth in the exhibition area and expansion of the exhibitors’ geographical representation. This year, Transit-Kazakhstan will present about 100 exhibiting companies from 13 countries: Austria, China, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Latvia’s national stand features 28 providers of all kinds of transportation and logistics services, ports, terminals, railways, educational institutions and more. For the first time ever, the event will see exhibitors from Austria and Sweden. On the whole, compared to last year, the exhibition area has increased by 15%.
The exhibition covers every area of the transport industry. The list of Kazakhstani exhibitors includes major transportation and logistics operators as well as national and government enterprises representing the country’s transport infrastructure.
The basis of the exhibition will be formed by Kazakhstani companies representing a comprehensive range of transport services: Kazakhstan Temir Zholy NC JSC, KazAeroNavigation, KazTransService JSC, KazTemirTrans JSC, EastComTrans LLP, KedenTransService JSC, Aktau International Sea Commercial Port, Bereke 2004, Zhol Zhondeushi, TransRemVagon, Nuker Corporation, Industrial Wagon Systems LLP, TransSystem International Forwarding Company LLP, and others.
As in previous years, there is a lot of interest in the exhibition from the railway operators of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy NC JSC), Russia (RZhD OJSC), Ukraine (UkrZaliznytsya), Lithuania (Lietuvos Geležinkeliai), and Latvia (Latvijas Dzelzceļš). This year’s Sea Transport sector of the exhibition will feature the Aktau, Liepaja, Ventspils, and Batumi Commercial Ports.
Widely presented is a group of manufacturers of cargo shipping and railway machinery servicing equipment from Europe and the CIS, as well as rail car builders and companies specialising in cargo transportation and logistics.
Along with other infrastructure sectors, transport is an extremely important component in the everyday activities of society and in the development of a country’s economy. Such exhibitions and conferences facilitate wide-ranging discussion of ways to further enhance Eurasia’s transport infrastructure, and provide an opportunity to consolidate existing business relations with partners, regular customers and suppliers, and to establish new mutually beneficial contacts.
Last year, 2,880 professional visitors were registered at TransitKazakhstan 2010, 89% being domestic professionals and 11% foreign visitors. The event is held alternately in Almaty and Astana, which allows for a broader territorial coverage of Kazakhstani exhibitors and visitors. The event is organised by the two Kazakhstani companies Atakent-Expo and Iteca, and their international partner ITE Group (United Kingdom).
